I worked on my Hawaiian Slide Show quilt on the weekend. There are a total of 7 rows in this quilt so after completing 4 rows I am just past the half way mark. This quilt is up on my design wall and I am committed to finishing it to the flimsy stage before taking it down. I just know if I remove it from the design wall before it is a finished top, it will likely end up on the UFO pile.

Sunrise Silhouette
I finished piecing the quilt kit that I purchased at last weekend’s quilt show. This quilt is called, Sunrise Silhouette and I found it at Fibre Expressions Quilt Shop’s booth. (www.fibreexpressions.com)
The colours in this one fit perfectly with my wall colours.
Candle Mat Finish
I was inspired to take out a wool candle mat kit after our last quilt guild meeting and finish it.
During our March Quilt Guild meeting, we enjoyed a trunk show from Uschi Greiner of Wool Penny Rugs.

Boundary Bay Quilters’ Guild Quilt Show
Today I took my parents into Vancouver. Dad had a specialist appointment first thing Monday morning. With the traffic and constant road construction, we have found it easiest to head into the city the night before and stay at a hotel. This is by far the least stressful way of dealing with travel to the city. On the way into Vancouver, we stopped in Delta at the Boundary Bay Quilters’ Guild show.
This cat quilt was my favorite quilt of the show. This lime green Hawaiian themed quilt was my second favorite. I love the mix of traditional Hawaiian applique on the border and the pieced pineapple blocks in the center. There was a huge display of bags and purses. I am always looking for new bag ideas. This grommet bag made from recycled blue jeans.
These table centers were favorites of my Mom’s. The guild had these on the tables in their tea room. Does anyone know what this pattern is called?
There were lots of vendors at this show. I bought a cute little pieced chicken quilt kit. Stay tuned for pictures of that one.
