Long Arm Quilting and Christmas

Like so many other long arm quilters at this time of year, I have been busy with customer quilts and have not had time to work on my own projects.

I have finished my last customer obligation this weekend. This is the last customer quilt to go on the frame. This quilt is a cheerful scrappy log cabin.

I love log cabin quilts–especially those made from scraps. I think this quilt appeals to me because it reminds me of the quilts that quilters have been making for their families for generations out of the scraps they had on hand.

This quilt has been quilted in the Baptist Fan pattern using the Circle Lord template which gives it that traditional look.

  1. Log Cabin is one of my favorite patterns. In fact I just finished one that has been my leaders/enders project for several months. I love the colors your customer used in hers.

  2. Norma, I’m going to reward myself for moving and am going to order the Baptist fan template. Do you have the 10 inch template or the 7 inch double fan template? I love the quilts you and Judy have shown using this template and can’t wait to own it myself.

  3. The Baptist Fan is perfect for this quilt. I can hardly wait to try using my giant BF template. I just need the customer quilts to stop coming for awhile!

  4. It is a pretty quilt with nice modern colors, and the baptist fan quilting really adds to it. I haven’t seen many quilts that use this quilting design even though I’ve heard a lot about it. It changes the look of the quilt in a very good way.
