Ivy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>I have started a new project.\u00a0 It is a good idea to have a handwork \/ portable project available for those times when you are travelling, watching TV, etc.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This is block number one in a basket series by Bee Tree Designs.\u00a0 There are a total of 12 blocks&#8211;each with something different in the basket.\u00a0 The designs fit nicely on an\u00a0 8.5 inch square.\u00a0 The level of detail on some of the blocks and the size mean these are\u00a0quick-to-stitch so this project will take some time to finish.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I am using two strands of DMC #988 and\u00a0a backstitch to do the stitching.\u00a0 In hindsight, I should have likely used three strands of floss to make the design stand out more, but it is now done and IIWII.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/www.purlbee.com\/embroidery-tutorial\/2007\/2\/12\/backstitch.html\">http:\/\/www.purlbee.com\/embroidery-tutorial\/2007\/2\/12\/backstitch.html<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Greenwork-Ivy-Basket.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-884\" alt=\"Greenwork Ivy Basket\" src=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Greenwork-Ivy-Basket-300x285.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Greenwork-Ivy-Basket-300x285.jpg 300w, https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Greenwork-Ivy-Basket-1024x975.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Greenwork-Ivy-Basket.jpg 1827w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-FZ9RmyWG9aE\/Ts3P1JdF1jI\/AAAAAAAAHGM\/3AUhqc3UbEc\/s1600\/FR7L2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-FZ9RmyWG9aE\/Ts3P1JdF1jI\/AAAAAAAAHGM\/3AUhqc3UbEc\/s1600\/FR7L2.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>There has been a lot of discussion on the Internet about Pilot&#8217;s Frixion pens for marking designs on fabric.\u00a0 I tried the green Frixion pen to mark this design and I love it!\u00a0 The ink is thermo reactive and can be removed from paper with friction.\u00a0 The ink can be removed from fabric by applying the heat of an iron.\u00a0 I also read somewhere that someone removed the ink with a blow dryer but I haven&#8217;t tried that yet.\u00a0 At 65 degrees Celsius, the ink becomes translucent (invisible).\u00a0 The ink reappears if you cool your piece to -20 degrees Celsius\u00a0by putting it in the freezer so be careful what project you are using this ink on.\u00a0 Previously, I was using a permanent ink marker\u00a0to mark my stitching designs onto fabric.\u00a0 If I happened to make an incorrect line, I had to live with it and work it into the design.\u00a0 With the Frixion pen, I can just use the tip of my iron to remove the mistake and remark.\u00a0 I am not so sure I would use the pens to mark quilting lines on finished quilts, but for marking red work\/green work, they are perfect.<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-60vlvubRoVo\/Ts3P3H0Y0PI\/AAAAAAAAHGU\/3kub73Pht8E\/s1600\/frixion-blue.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-60vlvubRoVo\/Ts3P3H0Y0PI\/AAAAAAAAHGU\/3kub73Pht8E\/s320\/frixion-blue.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"41\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have started a new project.\u00a0 It is a good idea to have a handwork \/ portable project available for those times when you are travelling, watching TV, etc. This is block number one in a basket series by Bee &hellip;
