It\u2019s the perfect time to start a new project, or maybe finish one of those UFOs (or PIGS \u2013 Projects in Grocery Sacks \u2013 as Lori would call them).&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So in keeping with National Quilt Month, I did start a new project yesterday. \u00a0The pattern is called <a title=\"Random Reflections\" href=\"http:\/\/www.modabakeshop.com\/2010\/07\/random-reflections.html\">Random Reflections<\/a> and is by KarrieLyne from Freckled Whimsy. \u00a0The pattern is available on the Moda Bake Shop site and is free for the downloading. \u00a0This quilt should finish approximately 60&#8243; x 60&#8243; and will be perfect as a lap quilt.<\/p>\n<p>I picked this pattern because the darker strips resemble books on a shelf. \u00a0This quilt is for someone who loves to read and who has included books as decorations in her wedding planned for later this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1025\" alt=\"2014_Feb 28_Random Reflections for Lindsay_started Feb 28, 2014-Optimized\" src=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized-451x300.jpg 451w, https:\/\/silverthimble.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/2014_Feb-28_Random-Reflections-for-Lindsay_started-Feb-28-2014-Optimized.jpg 1355w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>All fabrics in this quilt are from my stash. \u00a0So although I promised myself I wasn&#8217;t going to start anything new until my stack of flimsies was done, I can rationalize starting this new project because at least I was not out there buying new fabric to add to the stash. \u00a0&#8230;somewhat of a compromise. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning, Quilters Newsletter Magazine&#8217;s Facebook post stated that, &#8220;March is National Quilt Month!
