Winter is Back

This is what we woke up to last Sunday morning. It started snowing late Saturday afternoon and continued all through the night.

…………………..just when we thought winter was over.

The good thing is that the snow had all disappeared by the end of the day Monday. Hopefully, this is the last snow storm of the season.

I’m Back!

I am finally back to my computer! We had a nasty virus invade our computer and embed itself in Windows so deep that the only way to remove it was to completely erase the hard drive.

My son is the local computer expert in our house – he is in his second year of his IT degree – so he took on the challenge. However, between his two jobs and school it proved to be a very lengthy process.

The Internet is a very wonderful and exciting place, but we must remember that we share the playground with some very unfriendly and devious people who are only on the playground to prey on unsuspecting victims – or in this case, computers!

Another Borrowed Quilt

This is another one of the many quilts that my mother has borrowed. It is a small nine patch that hangs in the hallway of my parents’ house.

I have resolved that is probably a good thing that there are so many of my pieces “on loan” to my mother. This way the collection is spread between houses. In the event of natural disaster or fire, at least I will loose only 1/2 of my work!

Completed Crumb Quilt Flimsy

Do you recognize this one?

This is the crumb quilt as a completed top or “flimsy”. I finished adding the extra row of blocks and borders on Sunday night.

This is the quilt’s debut on my Parents’ bed.

The quilt now needs to be quilted.

I think the blue lamp is going to have to go though, don’t you?

This picture is of my Dad and I having a look at some of the details in the fabric scraps that went into this quilt.
