Our guild has issued a UFO challenge to our members – the Finish-It-Up Challenge! – 1st Quarter 2017. The challenge runs February 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017.
The rules are simple:
1) We must upload photos to the special group created on Facebook. Deadline for entering is January 31, 2017.
2) Our photos must be of projects started but not yet completed. It must be evident in the photo that they have some sewing on them — stacks of fabric, even if cut, won’t work.
3) Enter as many as you like, but please try to enter all on the same post.
4) Each finish gets us one entry into the draw. Deadline for posting pictures of finished projects is April 30, 2017.
My list of UFO entries are as follows.
1 – St Patrick’s Day Table Runner – needs quilting & binding
2 – Off the Grid – This is my Creativ Festival challenge so it has to be finished! This one still needs piecing, quilting & binding
3 – Chicken Table Runner – needs quilting & binding
4 – Poinsettia Table Runner – this one needs quilting & binding
5 – Valentine’s Day – this one needs quilting & binding DS
6 – Singing the Blues – this one is now quilted although this picture shows it at the flimsy stage. Just needs the binding now. DS
7 – O Christmas Tree – just needs some large buttons attached to the end of the branches. I don’t even want to think about how many years this one has been sitting in the pile. DS
8 – 4PSP – from the 4-Patch Stacked Posey Pattern – this one just needs the binding sewn down
9 – Crumbs – needs binding. This one also needs the cat hair to be removed from it. The cat has gotten tired of waiting for this one to be finished and has claimed it. 🙂
10 – Canada’s Big Quilt Bee Slab Quilt – needs quilting & binding
11 – Ode to Freddy – needs hand quilting on the leaves and stem I am hand quilting phobic but I am determined to do big stitch quilting on this one.
12 – Check Plus – This one needs quilting & binding
13 – Wonky Pinwheel – this one needs quilting & binding
We are going to be doing this challenge each quarter. I think this is just the ticket that I needed to keep focused on “finishes” this year!
Good luck with your list! Can you share details of the singing the blues pattern? I love how that looks.
